Born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, DJ Base discovered his passion as a DJ when he discovered his love for hip-hop. At the turn of the millennium, Eminem and 50 Cent had taken the young Lebanese population by storm. "Without Me" and "In Da Club" were on repeat on every bulky iPod for the lucky few, and on "anti-shock discmans" for the rest. That's when Base put down his guitar to replace it with a pair of CDJs he used to watch local rising stars back then spin on.
Base adapted the somewhat novel DJ concept in Beirut to the Hip Hop genre, and was quickly picked up by NRJ Lebanon 99.1 FM Radio becoming the country’s youngest on-air talent. Just a week after his show's launch, Base opened for Akon's debut concert in Lebanon, which boasted some 12,000 revelers in the BIEL exhibition center. That's when Hip Hop became a regular staple in Lebanese nightlife, and mega-clubs across the capital hosted "RnB Nights" once a week. Base's crowd-pleasing sets landed him a residency at the now-defunct Chocolate nightclub with heavyweight Jojo. This partnership helped him score a coveted position as resident DJ at one of the world's premiere nightclubs: the legendary rooftop club, Sky-Bar on the Beirut waterfront.
After three years as a resident at Sky-Bar and graduating with an Economics degree from the American University of Beirut, Base seemingly dropped everything and moved to Los Angeles to find out how far he could push his musical production career, which at the time was still a hobby. A course in music production later, Base landed an internship with the notable DJ SKEE in LA, helping him produce SKEE's radio shows on satellite radio, FM radio and Internet radio, cable TV shows and a massive online following.
Within 8 months of living in the city where dreams are made, Base teamed up with SKEE to produce and DJ live radio shows on SiriusXM Hip-Hop Nation. He has since then spun alongside today's biggest artists including Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Selena Gomez, Chris Brown, Kendrick Lamar, Drake and many more. His years of experience in the DJ scene has also brought him the opportunities to host a number of mix tapes for The Game and Nipsey Hussle to name a few making himself one of the most sought after hosts on the West Coast.
Today, DJ BASE is containing to build his name as a Co-Founder of Dash Radio and Host of XXL Radio, and is currently working on his debut original project, produced by him and that will include a vast amount of features . The sky is the limit for DJ BASE as he has proven himself to be one of the newest leaders and influential tastemakers in today and tomorrow's music industry.
